FIRST PRESBYTERIAN Church of Wheeling continues its Lenten series of Wednesday noon TGIW (Thank God It’s Wednesday) services in the chapel at 1307 Chapline St. Each week focuses on select images and scripture depicting Christ’s journey to the cross. Paintings illustrating these stations of the cross are added to the “gallery’ hallway each week with the whole series available to view by the 6th week of Lent. Participants have valued this meaningful and peaceful break in their week. You are invited to join us.

AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT from Peacemaking and Self-Development of People Committees: Someone has called the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering "the most important and urgent offering of all the special offerings of the PCUSA." But giving to the One Great Hour of Sharing has decreased. As a result, the Self-Development of People in our presbytery will receive a smaller grant this year. Would you please consider making the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering a priority in your church during Lent?

DO YOU HAVE AN ELECTRIC SWEEPER or vacuum which you are no longer using but it is still in good condition? A way is available for you to extend the life of your appliance. The Women's Shelter of the Wheeling YWCA is always in need of new or gently used sweepers or vacuums. Would you think of giving yours to them through the Peacemaking Committee? You could bring it to the presbytery office or give it to a member of the Peacemaking Committee at the next presbytery meeting. Thanks!

“THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US.” (John 1:14) God’s word is not an abstraction, but a living presence with us. One way to celebrate that living presence is to come and see the words of the story of the Passion of Christ come alive in human form at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 Maine Blvd., East Liverpool, OH.
The Easter Pageant on the Hillside: Palm Sunday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. and Holy Saturday, April 15, at 6:00 p.m.
For more than thirty-five years now, seventy or more people have portrayed the final days of Jesus life, following Him from the Palm Sunday procession through the Upper Room to the trial, crucifixion, and the resurrection. Over the years it has enriched the spiritual journey of many Christians to see the Passion story recreated and remembered. If the weather is nice you may be seated on chairs in the parking lot (or bring your own chairs). If the weather makes it necessary, you may sit in your vehicles. For more info, call the church office 330-385-3557, M-F 9-Noon.
