THE APRIL 25, 2017, STATED MEETING of Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville, OH.
PRE-MEETING ~ We will begin with a pre-meeting at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed amendments to the Book of Order on which we will be voting. The proposed amendments include a complete re-write of the Directory for Worship, which is presented as a single amendment. That means that we must vote yes or no on the entire amendment; we cannot separate out parts that we don’t like. Because it would be such a significant change, the Bills & Overtures Committee will host this pre-meeting discussion. A booklet of the proposed amendments can be found on our website under “Items of Interest.”
DINNER will be served at 5:00 p.m. Make your dinner reservation by Tuesday, April 18thto our host church.E-mail fpcstc@sbcglobal.net or call 740-695-0690$9.00 payable at the meeting.
MISSION ~ In keeping with the Presbytery’s mission to try to serve local communities, the Mission Committee is asking that you bring Walmart gift cards to the April 25 presbytery meeting, and put them in the specially marked box on the sign-in table. They will be given to First Church so that they can purchase coats of the sizes that are needed for their Coat Closet. You may also give them gently used coats.
The offering for this stated meeting of presbytery will be designated for the Dakota Partnership.
THE MEETING will begin at 6:00 p.m. with worship.

MEDICAL BENEVOLENCE FOUNDATION Urgent Update: The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been in a constant state of political unrest and regionalized armed conflict for many years. The central region has been especially volatile serving as a battleground for rival ethnic militias. Recently however, the violence has escalated. Roads have been blocked, airports shut down and villages are fighting with each other in addition to clashing with both government and rebel forces. Residents and missionaries continue with only very basic activities and are essentially "sheltering in place." To read more about the current situation and the status of our missionaries and how you can help, click here
