Remembering Our Brother Richard Kenney "Hutch" Hutchison

In sadness, but in sure and certain hope of resurrection to eternal life, we tell you that the Rev. Richard Kenney “Hutch” Hutchison has passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the age of 86. We ask you to keep his family and friends in your prayers. Rev. Hutchison pastored Wolf Run Presbyterian Church, Cameron, WV, years ago.

Hutch was preceded in death by his parents John and Lyola and a brother Jack. He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Kirk and Kent, daughters-in-law Tracy and Sandi, granddaughters Katie and Fiona, and special friends Pam, Brian, Bryce, Amanda and Stella. Hutch was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. After high school, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and then Waynesburg University where he graduated in 1952. He then attended Western Theological Seminary graduating in 1955. He served Presbyterian churches in Pittsburgh, Wilmington, Delaware, and Wolf Run, WV. At that time, he also taught Sociology at West Liberty State College. In 1979, he married his present wife Barbara. He did interim preaching in the Grove City area of Pennsylvania until 1989, and then serviced a church in Richwood, WV. In 1992, he and Barbara retired to Santa Fe. Here, he was active in the Presbytery of Santa Fe, did volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, the Sierra Club, the Cumbres and Toltec RR, Earth Watch, Global Volunteers, and also participated in the Senior Olympics. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe at 11:00 AM on June 24, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe or Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity.
